Lodging

Where to Stay

Let us know your plan

Everybody loves the Mad River Valley in September! It is a gorgeous place with many great lodging options. But they can go quick. Some thoughts:

  • 99.99% of rooms in the Mad River Valley have a two night minimum requirement in September, and hike up prices. Blame the flatlanders
  • The best way to keep folks close and costs down is to book in groups - ie larger houses nearby in Sugarbush Village.
  • If that is not your speed, there are also plenty of affordable options (for now!!) within the Sugarbush Village area, many of which are a short walk/drive from dinner/after party. Book those on Vrbo/Airbnb whenever - see below for our room block at Mad River Inn, and suggested other places with rooms left.
  • There are plenty of affordable options (for now!!) within the Sugarbush Village area, many of which are a short walk/drive from dinner/after party. Book those on Vrbo/Airbnb whenever. See below for our suggestions.
  • If you DO want in on the houses, let us know! Every person coming to this shindig is extremely cool, fun, respectful etc. It'll be fun promise
  • FWIW, bride/groom would be so happy if folks stayed close by so we can party with you! And not worry about driving! Yay

FAQ

What should I wear?

Please wear whatever outfit you love. Suggested attire is semi-formal and weather-appropriate. But, we love a sun dress and do not care if you wear a tie. If you're in a gray area and wondering if it's fine, YES it's fine.

What will the weather be like?

We'll be outdoors until dinner, so weather matters. Mid-September in central Vermont is usually beautiful but a little unpredictable: daytime highs typically reach the low 70s°F, and once the sun goes down, evenings cool into the 50s and can feel chilly outside. Rain is always possible in a Vermont fall, so we'll be celebrating rain or shine at the spots listed here. We'd suggest dressing in layers, bringing something warm for the evening, and keeping an eye on the forecast as the day gets closer.

Where do I park, and how do I get to the ceremony?

Please plan to meet at Sugarbush, not the farm. There is ample parking at Sugarbush and very little at the farm, so we'll all gather at Sugarbush and carpool over to the farm together from there.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we adore your little ones, our Vermont celebration will be an adults-only affair.

Do you have a registry?

We do, though truly, your presence is more than enough. If you'd like to peek, it's in the Registry section right here on the site.
